Transport company sues Quaker City Produce for unpaid services allegations

PHILADELPHIA — A transportation company is suing Quaker City Produce Co. for allegations of unpaid freight charges.

Triple T Transport Inc. filed a lawsuit on April 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Quaker City Produce Co., Peter Storey, and John Raimondo, in his capacity as executor of the estate of James P. Storey, citing breach of transportation contracts, quantum meruit, unjust enrichment, and fraud.

According to the complaint, Triple T entered into several written contracts arranging for the transport of various shipments in interstate commerce for the defendant in exchange for payment of freight charges. The plaintiff claims that is selected motor carriers who delivered shipments, which the defendant accepted and retained.

The plaintiff avers that the defendant has failed to make full payment of the freight charges in connection with the shipments for an aggregate total of $135,255.

Triple T Transport Inc. seeks judgment in the amount of $135,255, pre and post-judgment interest, attorneys’ fees, costs, and punitive damages.
