Woman says slippery floor led to fall

Slip01

PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa and Hyatt Hotels Corporation, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Linda Winters filed a complaint on July 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they failed to maintain the floor of their facility safe for their patrons.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 14, 2014, she sustained physical injuries when she slipped and fell. The plaintiff holds Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa and Hyatt Hotels Corporation responsible because the defendants allegedly allowed water to accumulate on a floor, which made the floor slippery and dangerous and caused her to fall.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for damages in an amount in excess of $75,000 plus interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by John J. Stanzione of Lamb McErlane, P.C. in West Chester.
