ERIE – An independent professional baseball league is accused by one of its members of not upholding its bylaws.

Washington Frontier League Baseball LLC filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against Frontier Professional Baseball Inc. alleging breach of contract, unjust enrichment and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it is a member of the defendant's league and that the defendant failed to enforce its bylaws. The plaintiff alleges it filed a formal complaint with the Frontier League commissioner and took action against another member club for violating the bylaws. The plaintiff holds Frontier Professional Baseball Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to reimburse the plaintiff for the legal action and did not defend the appeal.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $75,000. It is represented by Michael J. McShea of Keevican Weiss Bauerle & Hirsch LLC in Pittsburgh.
