PHILADELPHIA — A woman is suing Simons Agency Inc., a debt collector, citing alleged misrepresentation in debt collection.
Angela Harris filed a complaint on Feb. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Simons Agency Inc., alleging that the debt collector misstated the total amount of the debt she owed.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2016, she sustained damages from a misrepresentation of the amount of her debt. The plaintiff holds Simons Agenc, Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly informed the plaintiff through a letter that there was no interest associated with the account, but when she spoke to their representative she was told there was interest associated with the account.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages in the amount of $7,751, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Vicki Piontek in Lansdale.
