GNC Inc. accused of retaliating against man for taking FMLA leave

Law money 10

PITTSBURGH — A former employee is suing employer GNC Inc., alleging that he was fired in retaliation for taking leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Nathan Bane filed a complaint on Feb. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against GNC, Inc. alleging that the employer interfered with plaintiff's attempt for FMLA.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in January 2016, he sustained damages from being terminated despite being approved for FMLA leave. The plaintiff holds GNC Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly retaliated against the plaintiff for taking the leave.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back wages, front wages, punitive damages, court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Kayla Drum of Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC in Pittsburgh.
