Tenant blames co-op owner for burglary

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh woman is suing a cooperative owner, alleging breach of contract, breach of duty and negligence.

Mina Kavaler filed a complaint Dec. 14 in the Court of Common Pleas Allegheny County against The Bristol Inc., alleging failure to maintain the security components of their property.

According to the complaint, Kavalier sustained monetary damages from having her home burglarized. The plaintiff alleges The Bristol was negligent in failing to provide adequate security for its tenants.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment of $95,960.95, plus interest. She is represented by attorney Mark J. Homyak of The Homyak Law Firm PC in Pittsburgh.
