PHILADELPHIA — A New Tripoli couple are suing YRC Worldwide Inc. and Golden Designs Inc. alleging faulty packaging of a large product caused an injury upon delivery.
Alicia Ruddell and Patrick Ruddell filed a complaint on March 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they failed to properly pack their product, which caused injury upon delivery.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that, on Dec. 18, 2015, Alicia Ruddell sustained physical injuries including a fractured pelvis, pubic bone and tailbone when a shipping pallet toppled over at their home. The plaintiffs hold YRC and Golden Designs responsible because they allegedly failed to properly secure their product upon delivery to the plaintiff.
The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $75,000 plus interest and court costs. They are represented by Stuart A. Carpey of Carpey Law P.C. in Conshohocken.
