PITTSBURGH — An employee is suing Heart II Heart LLC, a company that provides in-home care-giving, citing alleged retaliation, wrongful discharge and wrongful termination.
Alexandria Prentice, who was employed with the company as a care worker, filed a complaint on Dec. 19 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County alleging that the employer terminated plaintiff's employment as retaliation.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was wrongfully terminated because the defendant allegedly retaliated for Prentice's mother's actions, as she reported various wrongdoings to a company help line. Prentice's mother, Jamel Williams, was also a care worker with the company before being fired.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks front and back pay and other benefits, punitive damages, interest, compensatory damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Kayla Drum of Kraemer, Manes & Associates LLC in Pittsburgh.
