PHILADELPHIA — A King of Prussia man is suing Doan Solutions LLC, of North Carolina, its CEO and president Thai Doan and numerous unknown employees, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.
James Everett Shelton filed a complaint on May 24 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they called the plaintiff selling student loan relief services.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was damaged from receiving unwanted calls and was charged for receiving the calls. The plaintiff holds Doan Solutions, its owner and employees responsible because they allegedly continued calling the plaintiff despite his number being on the National Do Not Call Registry.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 for each negligent violation, $1,500 for each knowing violation, injunctive relief, statutory damages of $12,000, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is representing himself in the matter.
