PHILADELPHIA — An Irish pharmaceutical company is suing B. Braun Medical Inc., alleging patent infringement relating to a drug and its delivery method.
Mallinckrodt IP and Mallinckrodt Hospital Products Inc. filed a complaint on June 1 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania alleging that the defendant, based in Bethlehem, infringes several of the plaintiff's patents.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they sustained damages to their business from having patents infringed regarding the composition and administration methods for intravenous acetaminophen. The plaintiffs hold B. Braun Medical responsible because the defendant allegedly infringed at least one claim of plaintiff's patents regarding this drug and methodology.
The plaintiffs seek injunction against the defendant, monetary relief, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Keith R. Dutill, Marissa R. Parker and Chelsea A. Biemiller of Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP in Philadelphia.
