Philadelphia man accused of unlawfully uploading radio show to YouTube

PHILADELPHIA – A Maryland radio station operator alleges a Philadelphia man unlawfully uploaded on of its radio shows on YouTube.

Urban One Inc. filed a complaint on July 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Michael Williams and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendant infringed the audio from its show "DJ Mr King and 50 Center Interview Power 107.5" with his YouTube video "50 Cent announces I'm the man remix w/Chris Brown, talks top 5 Songs, Power Season 3 & More."

The plaintiff holds Williams and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly copied plaintiff's copyrighted works without proper licenses and permissions from the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunction against the defendant, actual damages, profits, statutory damages not less than $200 or more than $2,500, treble damages, punitive damages, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Craig Mariam and Yuo-Fong Amato of Gordon & Rees LLP in Philadelphia.
