'Once Upon a Time in Venice' copyright holders claim film was unlawfully distributed online

PHILADELPHIA – Ten individuals are alleged to have unlawfully distributed a film online.

Venice PI LLC filed a complaint on July 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against John Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is the registered copyright holder of the film "Once Upon a Time in Venice."

The plaintiff holds John Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly used BitTorrent to distribute illegal copies of the film online on July 8.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendants, statutory damages, court cost and any further relief the court grants. They are represented by Charles Thomas and Lee M. Herman of Creative Rights Law Group, PLLC in Media.
