Law money 03

PHILADELPHIA – A man alleges that he was victimized by a predatory lender and is seeking to declare that his loan is null and void.

Leon Harley filed a complaint on Aug. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against AMC Patriot LN IV B LLC and FMM Bushnell LLC.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff acquired a loan from Alternative Business Credit for $222,576.44 for a Philadelphia property. The suit states his loan was later sold to AMC Patriot. He alleges that during his process he learned that the maturity date for the loan was three years from the loan date and that he was not in default when the full amount of the loan became due and payable.

The suit states the plaintiff entered bankruptcy and his petition was dismissed. His property was sold at a sheriff's sale in December 2015. According to the suit, FMM Bushnell contacted the defendant in June seeking a balance of $139,529.99.

The plaintiff seeks to declare the loan to be null and void, declare that the loan be modified, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is representing himself.
