Over-the-door mirrors the subject of lawsuit against Target

Patents 08

READING – An Easton company alleges that retailer Target has infringed on one of its patents for an over-the-door mirror.

MCS Industries Inc. filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Target Corp. alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff owns patents regarding over-the-door mirrors or other hanging apparatus.

The plaintiff holds Target Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly was offering for sale an over-the-door mirror metal brass Threshold product that infringes plaintiff's patents in its retail stores.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant declaring that it infringed plaintiff's patents, permanent injunction, enjoin the defendant, damages adequate to compensate the plaintiff, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Gavin P. Lentz and Anton Kaminsky of Bochetto & Lentz PC in Philadelphia.
