PHILADELPHIA — Insurance companies are suing a Pennsylvania corporation, citing alleged liability and negligence.
Chubb Custom Insurance Co. and Factory Mutual Insurance Co. filed a complaint Oct. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Keystone Fire Protection Co., alleging that the Pennsylvania corporation caused water damage at the premises of HCP Inc.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on June 30, 2016, Keystone Fire Protection was hired to inspect a sprinkler system. They claim that Keystone Fire Protection failed to test the fire pump and close valves, causing a water line to rupture and discharge water into HCP's property. The plaintiffs claim they suffered financial damages from paying for the damage done to their insured's property.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount over $150,000 plus interest and court costs. They are represented by Steven K. Gerber of Cozen O'Connor in Philadelphia.
