MEDIA - A Philadelphia woman is suing the Mercy Catholic Medical Center of Southeastern Pennsylvania and two anonymous radiology technicians for negligence that allegedly caused a broken femur in a 2019 CT scan, according to court documents from the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.

Corynna Martin, who is paralyzed from the waist down, was a patient of Mercy Catholic and visited the hospital's radiology department on Jun. 7, 2019 for a CT scan of her pelvis and abdomen, the February lawsuit said.

The hospital's alleged negligence included failure to safely perform a CT examination, failure to hire and train competent and experience technicians and permitting unqualified technicians to perform testing services.

As a result of Martin's pain suffered from the injury and financial expenses incurred, the Philadelphia woman filed individual claims against Mercy Catholic and each radiology technician, Jane Doe and Mary Doe, for at least $50,000 in compensatory damages, plus delay costs and damages.
