The City of Pittsburgh, along with the owner and operator of the strip center at the corner of 26th St. and Smallman St., is facing civil charges from an Allegheny County woman who says she tripped on a hazardous sidewalk near the center while jogging.

According to court documents field in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Kelly Hribal was jogging past the strip center in September of 2019 when she tripped on a metal object in the sidewalk, suffering injuries that included a concussion, abrasions, headaches, nose bleeds, nervousness and depression.

Hribal is suing the city for one count of negligence in allowing the unsafe sidewalk conditions and failing to warn users of the condition. She is seeking the same charge against Oxford Development Company, the premises owner.

In both charges, she is seeking judgements outside the court's arbitrational limits.

The plaintiff is represented by Woomer and Talarico, LLC, of Pittsburgh.
