PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh bar patron alleges she was assaulted by a bouncer and suffered severe injuries including fractures to her leg.

Courtney Baltimore filed a complaint July 10 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Big Restaurants LLC doing business as Galaxy Lounge and Entertainment Center, Derrick Hemby and Carla Hemby alleging negligence, assault and battery and other claims.

According to Baltimore's complaint, she was at the Galaxy Lounge and Entertainment Center on Kelly Street in Pittsburgh on March 10, 2020. She alleges that "a verbal altercation ensued" between her and a security guard/bouncer who suddenly and without warning pushed her to the ground.

Baltimore claims as a result of the attack, she suffered a fracture of her tibia and fibula which required surgery, emotional trauma, bruises and contusions as well as injury to her nerves, muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments and tissues. She also claims she suffered lost wages and incurred medical expenses. Baltimore alleges the defendants' negligence for not preventing their security personnel from pushing her in a violent manner, for failing to safely remove her from the bar and for failing to properly train its personnel.

Baltimore seeks monetary relief, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Ian Watt of Friday & Cox LLC in Pittsburgh.
