PITTSBURGH – A local man accused of assaulting the father of a girl he supposedly blamed for his own daughter’s trampoline-related injuries, has denied those allegations in their entirety.

William J. Suba and Kristina Suba filed suit in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas on Jan. 8 versus Bryan K. Thomas. All parties are of McKeesport.

The complaint alleged that on July 6, 2023, Thomas physically assaulted plaintiff William Suba, after an incident involving their children playing on a trampoline which resulted in Thomas’s daughter getting injured and suffering a black eye.

It is claimed that Thomas blamed the Subas’ daughter for the injury and confronted her in a threatening manner to get information about her father.

Thomas then allegedly ambushed and attacked plaintiff William Suba when he was walking to his son’s house after work, causing significant injuries that worsened over two days.

The Subas alleged that William suffered fractures to two vertebrae, had to wear a hard neck brace for 3.5 months and now wears a soft brace multiple times per week.

Plaintiff William Suba also filed criminal charges against Thomas, which are still pending.

UPDATE

Thomas, representing himself in this civil matter, offered a response to the allegations on Feb. 6.

“I, Bryan Thomas, pro se deny all allegations made by William Suba, Kristina Suba and their respective counsel. I request to defend myself against all allegations in court and demand counsel to prove the allegations and facts of the case,” Thomas said.

Furthermore, Thomas requested proof of medical records, pay stubs, time sheets, proof of employment, proof of credit score rating before and after the alleged dispute, in addition to requesting photos of plaintiff William Suba’s alleged facial injuries.

For counts of intentional torts, punitive damages and loss of consortium, the plaintiffs are seeking compensatory and punitive damages, plus costs, interest and such other and further relief as this Honorable Court may deem just and equitable, in excess of the arbitration limits of Allegheny County.

The plaintiffs are represented by Joseph M. Gaydos Jr. of Gaydos Law, in White Oak.

The defendant is representing himself in this matter.
