HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf has vetoed legislation passed by the General Assembly which extended immunity protections from liability connected to COVID-19 to a diverse array of health care entities and other businesses.
PITTSBURGH – Similar to another group of recent litigation, a class action lawsuit claims that a number of retailers have been illegally charging sales tax on the purchases of face masks during the coronavirus pandemic.
PITTSBURGH – Giant Eagle is seeking to dismiss a consolidated lawsuit filed against it by plaintiffs who objected to wearing a mask in its stores during the coronavirus pandemic, believing they have failed to state a claim.
HARRISBURG – With a growing number of lawsuits being filed against businesses statewide as the coronavirus pandemic continues, voices in the capital grow louder for Gov. Tom Wolf and the General Assembly to institute more broad-based liability protections for companies.
The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania reported the following activities in the suit brought by Rosemarie Shook against Avon Products Inc. on April 22.
