JOHNSTOWN – A Western Pennsylvania group of medical centers has filed a class action lawsuit against Travelers Insurance Company, alleging the insurer has not covered losses incurred by the center and other businesses like it during the coronavirus pandemic.
The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania reported the following activities in the suit brought by William Berkebile against Firstenergy Corp. on March 27.
PHILADELPHIA – The estate of a man shot and killed outside a Philadelphia bar by one of its employees who was allegedly intoxicated is accusing the establishment of negligence.
PITTSBURGH – In the wake of the recent release of a state grand jury report on the subject of child sexual abuse at the hands of clergy in Pennsylvania, a Pittsburgh-area man and two former area residents have launched legal action against the Diocese of Pittsburgh, claiming it fraudulently concealed their abuse and that of other victims.

JOHNSTOWN – A national banking association alleges two brothers, one residing in Texas and the other in Somerset, schemed to improperly obtain and retain funds from it.
HARRISBURG – The dismissal of a lawsuit filed after a man who fell from a chairlift and was injured at Seven Springs Mountain Resort Inc. was upheld in an Aug. 7 ruling from the state Superior Court.
