SCRANTON – A federal judge has granted the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s motion to dismiss a lawsuit from workers at a meat processing plant, litigation which alleged the agency refused to enforce COVID-19 pandemic protocols in spite of receiving complaints about the workplace situation.
ALLENTOWN – The Choice Hotels organization has had granted its motion to compel arbitration and stay all proceedings in a lawsuit brought by the company’s franchisees, who claimed they have been overcharged inflated fees to increase the group’s revenue and have been subjected to discriminatory treatment based on race.
MEDIA – An attorney for Rowan University claims the institution was not given proper notice of a lawsuit filed against it by a New Jersey pole vaulter, who allegedly suffered traumatic brain injury and a variety of facial injuries at an indoor practice in 2019, and is further subject to sovereign immunity.
PITTSBURGH – A natural gas company has been conditionally removed from a lawsuit which claimed its alleged negligence in failing to turn off the gas supply to a Penn Hills building, allegedly exacerbated the effect of a structure fire which took place at the property.
